Our Most FAQs
Where are you located? Mackinaw Timbers Cabins are located in Cadillac, MI. We're about 5 miles from the Cadillac Lake District and easily accessible from US-131 via exit 176. We're east of US-131 about 1/4 of a mile near the intersection of M-115 and S. Mackinaw Trail Road. Our address is 9628 S. Mackinaw Trail, Cadillac, MI 49601.
Are you Pet Friendly? Mackinaw Timbers Cabins welcomes well-behaved pets exclusively in cabins 5 & 10. For the enjoyment of you, your pets and our other campers, it's important that pet parents thoroughly read and understand our pet policy. You can find our pet-policy under the "About" Section if you hover that menu button at the top of any page.
Can I have my wedding at Mackinaw Timbers? Yes, and we’d be honored to be part of your story. When you rent the full Camp (all 11 cabins + The Cadillac House), you’re getting more than a backdrop—you’re getting an unforgettable Up North experience with your whole crew. We only host private, full-site weddings, and we require a minimum two-night stay. That gives you time to settle in, set up, and soak up the moments without rushing. The Camp can host up to 26 adults plus 4 children overnight, and we ask that day guests be limited—our peaceful setting, parking, and utilities just don’t allow for large day-only crowds. We keep things simple: no applications, no red tape. Just an in-person tour (by appointment only), a good conversation about what it’s like to host an event here, and if it’s a fit, we’ll pencil in your dates and send over a lease and deposit instructions. We don’t provide formal event services—but that’s part of the charm. You can bring in your own wedding planner, caterers, rental companies, musicians, or officiants —whatever fits your style. We're happy to provide our recommendations. Important to note: We only offer all-Camp rentals for weddings. Partial rentals don’t work well—guests not attending the wedding feel like they’ve walked into someone else’s family reunion. And honestly, that’s not the experience we want for anyone. Can I host a retreat and/or company event at Mackinaw Timbers? Absolutely. Mackinaw Timbers is a natural fit for small corporate retreats, planning sessions, leadership getaways, and casual team-building weekends—especially for teams who’d rather gather around a fire pit than a flip chart. We host up to 26 overnight guests (plus a few littles if needed), and while we don’t offer any event or catering services ourselves, that just means you’re free to design the experience your way. Pig roast? Fish fry? Morning strategy sessions followed by trail rides? We’re here for it—and we’re happy to recommend some trusted local vendors if you need help pulling it all together. We do have a covered outdoor picnic area, but please note: indoor group spaces are limited, so if you’re planning something more structured or weather-sensitive, you may want to bring in an event tent or other setup. Want to chat options? Email us at upnorth@mackinawtimbers.com and we’ll get you the full scoop.
What's provided in each cabin? While each cabin is a little different, you'll find everything you need for an easy, low stress, nostalgic getaway. This of us like the best kind of camping... the kind where you don't have to set up a tent, pack all your sleeping bags and towels, arrive, set-up, maybe get rained on, tear down... you get the drift. Instead, we provide heated and cooled cabins, with super comfy mattresses and linens (at least two pillow on every bed), two sets of towels and washcloths in our tiny cabins, 4 sets in cabin 1 and 8 sets in cabin 11 + toiletries to get you started, a microwave, fridge, assortment of coffee & tea. Check out each cabin's individual page for a list of specific amenities you'll find.
