Our Cabins
Mackinaw Timbers Cabins is a cabin vacation rental community consisting of one 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom house with full kitchen and 10 tastefully furnished cozy vacation rental cabins in Cadillac, Michigan. Each of our rustic tiny cabin rentals is decorated with its own unique, vintage Northern Michigan style.

The Loft
Our crew of family and friends went above and beyond to create a special area just for the “big kids” (ages 4 to 12). Too small for adults, the loft creates the perfect retreat and sleeping area. There are also vintage books, toys, games — remember that coveted Concentration game? We have it for the kids! And so much more. Below the loft is a four-poster log bed for the adults. To top it off, this cabin has a small kitchen and dining area.

Summer Fun
Vintage summer fun greets you as you enter this little log cabin: the old wooden badminton rackets, picnics table service before paper plates were the norm, a good Hardy Boys book, a cool breeze, red, white and blue and the slam of the old wood screen door. Open the old windows so the curtains rustle in the breeze, grab a good book and as you lay your head on the pillow with your feet crossed reading...you might just feel like you’re in an old tree house.

The Middle Mitten
Perched right in the middle of a row of cabins in the middle of lower mitten state, this cabin’s name just fits. In keeping with the nostalgic up north travel experience, the cabins are a perfect base camp. There are glimpses of our mitten state souvenirs—including the old rival MSU & U of M pennants, Petoskey stone and Dutch wooden shoes, collected from our family travels years ago.

Gone Fishin'
What better way to spend your time up north than to drop a line in the ole fishin’ hole. This cabin has a collection of old rods, lures, bobbers, sinkers and lines. You’re less than 10 minutes from three great fishing lakes, so dream of fish tonight and go catch 'em in the morning!

The Ellie Mae
Ellie Mae was the last of many very special hunting dogs raised and trained by Kim’s brother Mike. Mike was an avid hunter, adventurer and outdoorsman. Ellie Mae followed Mike wherever he went, whether he was working on a construction site or flying his plane. Ellie May was a champion pheasant hunter and lover of hikes, water and everything outdoors.
Any dog lover knows just how special dogs can be. This cabin warmly welcomes you and your special dogs too.

The 7-Point
The 7-Point inspiration comes from the Post Family Deer Camp, a tradition for more than 70 years. When you open the door one of the first sights is the 7-point deer mount, a coveted sign of a successful hunt; a rustic hand made “Deer Camp” sign, a vintage orange fur hat and metal canteen, old pictures from deer camps of the past, some buffalo plaid, and a deck of cards we're sure will help you recall your deer camps of the past.

The Hemingway
Some of Ernest Hemingway’s fondest memories and first short stories took place in the great outdoors of Northern Michigan. “The Hemingway” inspires guests to do the same. Be it exploring, quiet contemplation, traipsing about, listening to the sounds of nature, lingering by an open fire, reading from the variety of books left in the cabin or writing your own short story on the live edge writing area. We invite you to enjoy this writer’s themed cabin and all that Northern Michigan has to offer as an ode to Hemingway.

The Flag's Up
Oh, the joy of seeing the flag up on your tip-ups when you’re sitting on the ice on a cold, crisp winter day. We hope that joy envelopes you as you walk into this quaint, cozy log cabin with a few of the trappings of ice fishing long ago. The red and black heavy wool lined pants, the metal dual purpose tote and stool may remind you of days on the ice with your dad, grandpa, favorite uncle or friends.

Snow Day
The joy that the announcement of “Snow day, no school” brought when it came over the radio so very early in the morning was such a delightful and heartwarming surprise during childhood. It often meant a day in playing in the snow with brothers, sisters, friends and often your dog: skiing, skating and sliding until you were almost too tired to eat supper. With vintage snow shows, skis, and ice skate décor in tow, this pet-friendly cabin is just the right place to remember all the happiness snow days brought to you!

The Cadillac
Cadillac, Michigan took it’s name from Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, a French explorer who was one of the first in Michigan and is best known as the founder of Detroit. The Cadillac automobile was also named after this him. We named this cabin not only for the town it’s in but also, like the car, it is the top of the line among our cabins. The exterior belies just how roomy and homey this place is.
